Please join us for Advanced Trial School: Prosecuting the Fatal Crash which will be held on August 12-14, 2024, at the Governor's Office Building in Jefferson City.
This class will include sessions on proving criminal negligence, filing appropriate charges, crash reconstruction, toxicology and the DRE program, preparing for a defense expert, and working with victims. Attendees will also have the opportunity to practice conducting a direct examination of a witness in a small group setting and receive feedback from experienced prosecutors. The class will be worth approximately 16 hours of CLE. You can find the tentative agenda here:
AGENDA
Because this year's class focuses on a specialty topic for which grant funding is available, this class will be FREE to attend.
Lodging will also be provided for up to 24 attendees. This will cover the nights of August 11, 12, and 13 for attendees who live more than 50 miles from Jefferson City. Participating jurisdictions will need to cover only the cost of travel to and from Jefferson City and meals.
Space in this class is limited, and registration will be offered on a first come, first served basis. There is no hard deadline to register, but the cut-off for lodging is August 2. Attendees who will require lodging should register on or before close of business that day.
